These photos were kindly taken By William Blake Wade. He’s one of the photographers and visual artists working with the playhouse collectives. A curator no less. He has a rather spiffing eye for detail and if you want to see more of his work then get thee to:

Here’s the shots taken by Chris Scott of the Street Performance Interventions so far by the Performance Collective. We are currently looking for a guitarist and other performers to join the group. It is still very much work in progress… so far we think that some unmasked, costumed, strolling performers might be good to add colour and soften the edge of the masked character. The guitarist could play spanish acoustic and add further to that sense of  Bradford transforming into Venice or Barcelona. We think this could a beautiful and inspiring performance for the area recognising the architectural and cultural influences of the area.

Creativity and the Collective

Every Wednesday Evening from 7 pm artists from around west yorkshire gather in the Bradford Playhouse cellar. The beer, coffee and creativity flow whilst the artists unite. Its Bohemian, beatnic and certainly more than mere networking. The focus is on creation and cross fertilisation between artists from as many disciplines as can be mustered.

At the moment of this post the collectives are storming and forming. There’s a performance collective, a comedy collective, a writers collective, a technical theatre collective, a poetry collective a music collective and a fine art collective. There’s room for more…

Whats on offer is an amazing networking hub and the truly magnificent resource that is the Bradford Playhouse to play, promote, perform and exhibit.

There’s also a volunteers collective for those who like the scene but would rather help man the doors, help with publicity, keep the theatre ship shape and that sort of thing.

If you’d like to join the collectives or find out more about the theatre you can visit the main website www.bradfordplayhouse.co.uk  for contact information or email dougalterego@googlemail.com
